Space-based Solar Power System is the future of Energy
In this technology, Satellites in the space will take the sun's energy and convert them into the Microwaves.
Those microwaves will be beamed at the power station on the Earth.
The European Space Agency (ESA) is currently exploring the technology needed for this mechanism.
A demonstration project carried out in Germany used microwave beam to transmit the energy necessary to power a model city, even cooling liquids suitable for consumption.
According to the ESA, both the satellites and the collecting antennas on Earth would need to be gigantic.
Probably in the orders of miles, that will capture the equivalent nuclear power from space-based solar.
The ESA is already collaborating with the U.S. space agency, NASA, in other satellite based system.
