Research says Robots could turn racist and sexist

An experiment highlighted that robots acted sexist and racist with respect to race, gender, and scientifically discredited physiognomy

The robots used in the experiment was created with a popular AI model and well trained by the data from the Internet.

The robot enacted toxic stereotypes when tasked with categorising people.

The robot gravitates to men over women, white people over people of colour.

The robot even made conclusions about people's job based on their facial look.

Researchers suspect that robots with such flawed AI might be developed and used for the homes and workplaces.

“We’re at risk of creating a generation of racist and sexist robots but people and organizations have decided it’s okay to create these products without addressing the issues,” said Andrew Hundt
