NASA launches Rocket from Australian Space Center for the First Time

For the first time in the history,  NASA has done commercial spaceport launch outside the USA.

NASA has launched a rocket from the Australia's remote Northern Territory.

NASA used Arnhem Space Center on the Dhupuma Plateau, near the township of Nhulunbuy.

NASA become the first client of the commercial spaceport that is owned and developed by the Equatorial Launch Australia (ELA).

The rocket's main mission is to observe the Alpha Centauri A and B constellations.

The newly launched rocket will travel for 300 kms (186 miles) into the space.

This was historic for Australia as it was the country's very first commercial space launch.
