LG jumps into the EV charging business

LG is very well known and established in electric mobility, developing batteries, sensors, and screens for electric cars.

Recently the company acquired the South Korean EV battery charger developer company called AppleMango.

This move is expected to enable the company to develop fully-featured charging stations with a user-friendly interface and real-time control and management

AppleMango was founded in 2019 and has successfully developed latest slim and fast EV charger.

LG is also planning to work with the partner GS Energy and GS Neotek.

With GS Energy's EV Charging operating business and GS Neotek's IT service business, LG will develop the necessary infrastructure.

LG has taken a 60% stake in AppleMango, 34% stake in GS Energy, and 6% stake in GS Neotek.

LG's goal is to install an EV charger production line at LG Digital Park in South Korea by the end of 2022.
