In the United States, an Apple Watch Saves a Woman From Drowning in a River

This incident happened on the June 15th at the Columbia River known for its voluminous water

The woman had gone for swimming in the river, and her foot got stuck in the rocks at the bottom of the river.

The swimmer tried to release her foot but all in vain, she ultimately used SOS feature of her Apple Watch.

Soon after her SOS call, local police officers along with Mid - Columbia Fire and Rescue personnel reached to rescue the woman.

By the time the woman got the help, she had already spent 30 minutes in the river which had 13º C and a continuously rising water level.

The lady swimmer had signs of hypothermia, and was exhausted and distressed.

The emergency call function which helped drowning woman has been available in the Apple Watch since 2017.
