Saturn beats Jupiter and becomes new "Moon King" of Solar System
Jupiter is known to have the highest numbers of Moons.
The largest planet of the Solar System has around 92 Moons.
But, it is no more the Moon King of our Solar System.
The top place is now taken by the planet with rings - Saturn.
On 16th May 2023, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) has added 62 newly confirmed moons to the Saturn.
And that increased the total Moon Count of Saturn to 145.
These new Saturn moons were found or confirmed by a team of astronomers from the University of British Columbia, the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, and the Observatoire de Besancon in France
They used the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope, located atop Mauna Kea, in Hawaii to find these new moons of saturn.
